This week for Math and Language Arts...
Math
It's nice to back to our normal routine. We've dusted off our Saxon Math books and are geared up for our usual 30 problems a day. This week we'll be learning about multiplying multiples of 10, dividing with two-digit answers and remainders, millimeters, and word problems about a group of fractions.
Language Arts
This week we'll actually be starting our fifth story: How Fast do you Eat your Ice Cream? This is an expository text about an eighth grade girl's science project. Our grammar component will be contractions, comparatives, and compound words. Our comprehension strategies will be adjusting reading speed, summarizing, and identifying author's purpose. We'll also be explaining a scientific process for our writing component.
